396 Acres Protected in 2009
Henderson Family Preserve The first time I met the Hendersons, I was struck by the family’s enthusiasm and heart felt desire to protect their land. The land their family has worked for over 60 years, raising children and grandchildred. As myself and our Board President, Tom Lucia, sat in their living room discussing the development that was occurring all around them, I was struck by how lucky I was to be able to help them keep and protect the land that has given them such satisfaction over the many decades. In addition to being grateful they could protect the land that has given them their livelihood, they also spoke at length of all the wildlife they have enjoyed viewing over the years. It means a lot to Bob and Betty to help protect the dense riparian corridor along the Bear River, and be able to live on their land for the rest of their lives without worrying about whether the farm would be subdivided and the rich riparian habitat converted to river front homes.
