Deep Creek PreserveProject Summary
The 435 acre Deep Creek Preserve is located in Franklin County, Idaho approximately five miles north of the Utah border on the tributary of the Bear River, Deep Creek. The property borders United States Forest Service Land to the east and is an access point for the trail systems associated with the Mt. Naomi Wilderness Area. The Deep Creek Preserve will be managed to conserve and protect fish, wildlife, scenic, historic, archaeological, and cultural values. A majority of the property is classified as sagebrush steppe and riverine habitat. These habitats support a range of wildlife, including waterfowl, neotropical migrant birds, raptors, some upland game birds, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. In the spring, the Preserve has a beautiful floral display!
